Lewis Women's Basketball Starts National Title Run as the Fifth Seed

The NCAA announced the qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament and that the Lewis University women's basketball team locked down the fifth seed in the Midwest Region.

The Flyers are 26-3 so far this season and coming off a loss to Maryville in the Semifinals of the GLVC Tournament. Top-seed Grand Valley State will host the entire midwest region in Allendale, Michigan.

Lewis, who drew the 5th seed, will take on 4th seeded Wayne State on Friday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The winner of that matchup takes on the winner of No. 1 Grand Valley and No. 8 Quincy slated for 4 p.m. CT for a chance at the regional championship on Saturday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. CT. 

Other matchups include No. 3 Northern Michigan and No. 6 Hillsdale slated for 11 a.m. CT, the winner of that contest will take on the victor of No. 2 Ashland and No. 7 seed Ferris State scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. CT. The winner of both matchups will play Saturday, March 15 at 4 p.m. CT. for a chance at the regional championship as well.
