Dr. Adrianne Honnold Honors Elise Hall at Iowa Saxophonists’ Workshop

Dr. Adrianne Honnold, assistant professor of music at Lewis University and associate director of the Gros Institute for Dialogue, Justice, and Social Action, was invited to present a lecture and perform on a recital to celebrate Elise Hall on the anniversary of her death 100 years ago. Iowa Saxophonists’ Workshop Elise Hall Celebration was held on October 26 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.  

 

±á´Ç²Ô²Ô´Ç±ô»å’s lecture was based on her recent co-authored book . It was followed by a concert featuring works that the pioneering saxophonist Hall commissioned and performed in the early 1900s.  

 

Several students from Dr. Kenneth Tse’s saxophone studio performed, and the event concluded with two pieces played by Honnold joined by Casey Dierlam Tse on piano: , and .
